Work From Home by Learning How to Transcribe
Audio transcribers are people who prepare typed transcripts from recorded audio. Audio transcribers tend to be people seeking something that allows them to set the hours they work, and provides flexibility and opportunity to work from home, or anywhere that internet access is possible.
While there are transcribers who specialise in legal and medical transcription, there is even more generalist work available. Interviews, meetings, video and television, blog posts, focus groups, and so much more. And in recent years, more than ever these audio recordings are created through the use of platforms such as Zoom, Skype, and Microsoft Teams as video conferencing has effectively replaced face-to-face meetings. In fact, the majority of our clients continue to work as much a possible from their home offices, and use online technology to remove the time lost in transit. The world has embraced the opportunity to obtain a greater work/life balance and is reluctant to relinquish it.
This same work/life balance is a driving force for many audio transcribers. For some of us, audio transcription is a full-time career, for others it’s a side gig or a supplemental income.
You can find out more about the kinds of people who work as transcribers for a living in our free eBook Your Life, Your Rules.
